Liquid Hydrocarbon Fuels

Solvent Rescue’s sister company Solray Energy has an ongoing project of liquid fuel production from algae. The algae will come from special high rate ponds built by NIWA as part of the water treatment processing at the Bromley ponds. The algae grow by photosynthesis and make use of the nutrients left in the waste water.

After harvesting the algae the water is left free of nutrients. The algae are the processed at high temperature and high pressure through a specially designed energy efficient Super Critical Water Reactor. This converts the algae into oil in a similar process to that of nature many millions of years ago.
